Reproduced in the style of the original design, the DCW Chair is one of the most important furniture pieces of the 20th Century. It was the first chair to be mass-produced using moulded plywood - a process developed by Eames' which eliminated the need to use superfluous wood to connect the seat with the back, resulting in a lighter, slenderer profile. Simply put, the technology and processes used to manufacture this chair established a basis for what we now know as modern furniture design. The seat and back are sculpted into profile using plywood veneer, moulded into subtly curved shapes to create a surprising level of comfort. An elegant piece of stainless steel supports the seat and back in one fluid form. Our products are reproduced to the style of the original design.
